Sabrina Materie

Sabrina Materie, FreshEd’s communication manager, is an advisor and facilitator working alongside historically excluded post-secondary students. As an academic advisor, campus navigator for former youth in care, advisor to Indigenous students, and program manager and facilitator, she supports undergraduates in growing through higher education and influencing their institutions of learning in return. Sabrina volunteers her time serving on boards and advisory committees, adjudicating scholarships, with grassroots organizations, and on community radio. She received the 2020 President’s Staff Award for Enhancing the UBC Experience and has presented her work in student services at the 2023 CASFAA and WARUCC conferences.
